A battery-operated AM/FM radio.
Flashlight with fresh batteries.
One gallon of bottled water per person per day for drinking and sanitation.
Three days of food that won’t go bad and does not have to be heated or cooked. Remember a can opener and eating utensils.
Toilet paper, feminine hygiene products, soap and bleach.
Food for pets.
Towels.
Toys for young children.
Candles and matches.
First-aid kit.
Medicine and other items essential for your family's survival.
Telephone, although you should use it only for emergency calls.
