Mission
The mission of the pharmacy
department is to ensure that the patients of Cobb County
Health Department receive the most efficacious and cost
effective drug therapy to aid in disease prevention
and promote long-term health.

Major Function
The primary function of the pharmacy is to
dispense the correct medications to patients while providing
medication counseling and evaluating the medications for interactions
with drugs, disease states, and food. The Pharmacy department
is responsible for the maintenance of various drug formularies.
In addition, it is responsible for ordering, receiving, and
distributing pharmaceuticals to the different areas of the
health department.
Pharmaceuticals are provided for the following areas:
1. Immunization
2. Children and Adolescent Health
3. Sexually Transmitted Disease
4. Tuberculosis
5. Family Planning
6. Mental Health
7. HIV/AIDS
